“Everything Coming Together and Falling Apart” explores memory, the passage of time, destruction and renewal. The artist, Andrea Burgay, continually adds and removes layers of materials to create collages with fragments of color, texture and drawing element from images, wall paper, handmade paper and painted papers. This exhibit will be on display at the Roxbury Arts Center at 5025 Vega Mountain Rd, Roxbury from July 9, 2022 through August 20, 2022. An Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, July 9, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm when members of the public are invited to attend, meet the artist, and learn more about the work. The Artist Reception and visits to the Walt Meade Gallery are always free and open to all.
The works in this exhibition are resigned to aging and decay, but convey hopefulness in their ability to hold together and metamorphose in the face of entropy. They invite the viewer to reflect on their own relationship to the passage of time, and the painful aspects of their experiences, and move towards integration of life’s complex cycles.

Music, songs and lots of juggling.
For children ages 2-8
Sunday, August 28 at 1 pm
The Nate & Kate Kids Show is a mix of original and very familiar children’s songs with participation, lots of juggling, and a few young volunteers.
For the past 16 years and through over 2,000 performances, Nate & Kate have developed their unique vaudeville-inspired variety folk duo show. Featuring cello, guitar, banjo, harmonica, piano, harmony vocals, funny to poignant original songs, sing-along favorites, and hilariously impressive musical juggling routines, the duo does its best to balance entertainment value and artistry. In 2010 they debuted “The Nate & Kate Kids Show” since parents were often bringing their kids along to shows already and added lots more participation, juggling, and familiar folk songs to their presentation. Nate was raised on a small farm in upstate NY and Kate was brought up in Ithaca, NY. They are based in Ithaca, NY.
FREE indoor event and open to the public! (donations welcome)

Oneonta, NY (July 19, 2022) – The Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York (NENY) Chapter is inviting local residents to join the fight to end Alzheimer's by participating in the Oneonta Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® on September 25, 2022, at Neahwa Park. On Walk day, participants come together to honor those affected by Alzheimer's and raise funds that ensure the programs and services provided by the Alzheimer's Association are free to all who need them.
Ann Thayer, Associate Director of Programs and Services at the NENY Chapter, says: "Walk to End Alzheimer's is our signature event and we are pleased to announce this year's Oneonta Walk will once again be held at Neahwa Park. While our Walk raises critical funds, it is far more than a fundraiser. It is an inspiring time where our community comes together to celebrate our commitment to ending this disease. If you've never attended, there is a poignant Promise Garden ceremony with different colors that represent each walker's personal reason to end the disease. It is my hope that you'll consider adding your flower to the fight."
In addition to inviting people to sign up for the Oneonta walk, the NENY chapter is encouraging people to become involved in other ways.

A seventh-generation Carolinian, a singer-songwriter, storyteller, makeshift poet, and blue-collar artist, Adeem began toiling at their instrument in 2002 and used songwriting as a vehicle to process culture shock, their faith, and later their journey through apostasy.
Blending a homegrown affection for Country Music with the emotional ballyhoo of alternative folk in the early aughts, they have created a unique brand of Americana that pays homage to John Prine and John Darnielle (of The Mountain Goats) in equal parts.
On 'Cast-Iron Pansexual,' they weave a rich tapestry of words with humor and wit; exploring identity across coalescing subcultures. Traveling to Carolina to get their Tarot read while straddling the duality of being a “blue collar boy” who is a “complicated dame,” Adeem excavates unwonted stories of the forgotten south.
“Cast Iron Pansexual lives up to its title with explorations of sexuality and gender expression that are equally clever and poignant.” – Rolling Stone
“[Adeem] writes about the questions in a pensive Americana style. [Their] songs will both comfort you and challenge you.” – American Songwriter
